Hong Kong Invite Travelers Hipster for 'Lost'

Many, if Hong Kong is like a mix between modernity and uniqueness Thailand Singapore. But, in addition to Disneyland and Ocean Park, there are a lot of attractions and other tourist attractions that can be visited there. One way is to find out through the eyes of local residents.

That concept is a campaign of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) this year, as it was launched at a press conference in Jakarta. Titled "Best of All, its Hong Kong," this campaign to promote tourism there are four elements, namely; culinary, fashion and entertainment, a family adventure and the outdoors.



No different from any other state tourism promotion, public figure four Hong Kong also was asked to become an icon of the travel element. They are Chef Umberto Bombana, Anais Jourdin Mak fashion designer, actor Michael Wong, and Sean Lau.

The four elements are promoted through video tour featuring many corners of the city with not much known before, so that would be evocative intentions of foreign tourists to visit Hong Kong.

"This year, we would like to invite tourists to taste Hong Kong with a guide from the local population. In addition to objects and sights are already popular, from the eyes of our icon which is the local residents, will be known to many new things, ranging from a chat to tips exploring nature in Hong Kong, "said Regional Director of HKTB Simon Wong, when interviewed by CNN Indonesia at the launch of tourism promotion campaigns.

Sensation 'Lost' in Hong Kong

HKTB tourism promotion campaign video this year made a fresh concept, with shooting and dynamic colors. Simon says it aims to attract the youth and young families to come.

"We realized that the young travelers like to capture a moment of time traveled. Therefore, this year's tour campaign deliberately presents a concept that contemporary hipster alias; promotional video dynamic concept and the selection of objects and tourist attraction 'Instagram-able,' "said Simon.

Kenny Santana, author and owner of a travel agent, who was invited as a speaker at the launch of the campaign HKTB, admits that searching for travel information through the eyes of local residents, particularly in Hong Kong, gave him a lot of new experiences.

"Before I came to Hong Kong, I am looking for information through cyberspace. After a day of visiting the popular places, I try to set him lost, by not making travel plans. I just follow the crowd’s residents of Hong Kong, "said Kenny.

"One was when I joined the queue at crowded places to eat local residents, but the name is not very popular in cyberspace. It turned out that the menu is equally delicious. So, do not be afraid to get lost in Hong Kong, "he added.

Tourists from Indonesia, according to Simon, are known to be an avid tourist area. The number of visits they also is increasing every year.

Explained Simon, as much as 464 thousand Indonesian tourists visiting Hong Kong, of the total number of foreign tourists as much as 56.6 million during 2016. The amount is up by 12 percent from 2015.

Overall, tourists who dominate the number of visits to Hong Kong are to China, Taiwan, United States, South Korea and Japan.

"Compared to other Southeast Asian countries, the number of tourists visiting Indonesia is the largest. The promotion of innovation is also one of our investments to increase the number of tourists visiting Indonesia to Hong Kong, "said Simon.
